"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand."
Confucius

Schooling is primarily process oriented, while Students are primarily product oriented. Effective instruction involves combining the two.

My name is Patrick Thomas and I am the Science Teacher for all 3rd-5th grade students and have been a Science Teacher for 19 years.
This year, 4th grade students are scheduled to receive two Science classes a week.

My teaching style is to provide an environment where students are able to experience and reflect on Science topics. This is accomplished through hands-on activities with products as well as formal instruction practices.

So far, students have been involved with activities to:
  • Develop critical thinking (Surviving in Rainforest Scenario)
  • Understanding Animal Basic Needs
  • Working definition of Animal Adaptations with primary focus on Amphibians (Frogs) and their lifecycle.
  • The study of genetics in regards to animal traits and behaviors.

All activities covered in class will be checked green in the navigation bar.

The purpose of this site is to be an online learning and resource aid.
This site will provide:
  • Topic Information
  • Science Content
  • Objective/Homework Descriptions
  • Online Activities
  • Links to additional content on the Internet

The site is a work in process. As such, content and material will be added and refined as the year progresses.
